11+ Entry
Mayville High School is run as a charitable trust and as such the Trustees will make awards for excellence.
One Academic Scholarship of 50% of fees for five years is available for an exceptional candidate. This is awarded as a result of performance in the Entrance Examination. One Creative Arts scholarship of 50% of fees for five years is available for a pupil with exceptional ability in Art, Drama, Music or Sport. The award will be made as a result of practical assessment. Reasonable performance in the Entrance Examination will also be required. A limited number of Assisted Places are available annually and depend on a combination of academic ability, as assessed in the Entrance Examination and parental income. Mayville High School Assisted Places are privately awarded and are not subject to government funding. Details of the scheme may be obtained from the Administrative Officer. The maximum award available will cover 90% of tuition costs.
PAYMENT
PLEASE NOTE FEES INCLUDE ALL GCSE EXAMINATION FEES, EXERCISE BOOKS, USE OF TEXT BOOKS AND MOST EDUCATIONAL VISITS TO AND FROM THE SCHOOL.
Fees are to paid on or before the first day of each term. Nursery fees may be paid in three instalments per term. Junior/Senior fees may be paid by Standing Order over the year, in twelve instalments commencing in September.
NOTE. A TERM'S NOTICE IN WRITING IS REQUIRED BEFORE THE REMOVAL OF A PUPIL AND TO STOP AN OPTIONAL SUBJECT OTHERWISE THE FEE FOR THE FOLLOWING TERM MUST BE PAID.
CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION 1. Pupils are expected to conform to school rules and must observe the requirements concerning good manners, appearance, courtesy and general conduct.
2. Pupils in the Junior/Senior school must adhere strictly to the requirements of school uniform.
3. No pupil is to be absent from school, except in the case of illness, without the permission of the Headteacher.
4. In the event of illness the school office is to be informed on the first day of absence and a letter must be given to the Form Teacher on return to school.
5. All fees are payable in advance on the first day of term, unless payment is to be made in instalments and arrangements have been made with the school office.
6. A term's notice in writing is required before the removal of a pupil and to stop an optional extra subject, otherwise the fee for the following term must be paid.
7. The Headteacher reserves the right to refuse admission to any pupil and to request the removal of any pupil who persistently fails to conform to school rules, without refund of fees.
8. Admission to Mayville is conditional upon acceptance of the terms set out here and any further rules that may from time to time be instituted by the Headteacher or Trustees.
