Before And After School Care  

For 50 weeks of the year from 8am-6pm, care and clubs are provided for our pupils. For children from 6 months - 11 years Mayville provides breakfast,after school care and holiday care. For 4-11 year olds there are activity clubs throughout the holidays. Prep sessions are provided for 11 - 16 year olds 4-5pm Monday to Thursday.

 

Early morning care

In The Cottage morning care is offered for children from 8am - 9am. Morning care for 4-11 year olds starts at 8am and finishes at 8.30am. During this time pupils can take part in an activity or enjoy a period of free play including drawing, board games and puzzles.

 

After school care:at The Cottage

is provided from 4pm-6pm. A light tea, made on the premises, is provided. Children engage in quiet activities, where they can wind down after the day.

 

After school care: Kestrels - Lower II Y2 -Owl club

The Owl Club operates after school each evening until 6pm. There is a period of supervised free play, both indoor and outdoor, before children are served a healthy balanced light tea. They have a chance to play, read, and take part in a planned activity and complete any set homework.

 

After tea, they can also play outdooors in the school playground, watch DVDs, or listen to a story. Places can be booked on a regular or occasional basis and children may be collected there up to 6pm.

 

After school care: Junior After School Club -UpperII-Upper III (Y3 -Y6).

 Children start off having free time and are allowed a period of supervised play in the playground. Tea is served, and then homework club, which is run by a member of staff starts at about 4.15pm finishing around 5pm. An art activity is available for those who finish their homework or are staying until 6pm. There is also free-play, consisting, of drawing, board games and reading.

 

 

 

Prep sessions :Remove -Upper V (Y7-YII)
These supervised sessions are available Monday to Thursday 3.45pm -5pm when pupils can complete their homework, revise or read a book. Access to computers is available for work and research. A drink and biscuits are provided.
Holiday Care at The Cottage
Mayville High School provides care for children at The Cottage throughout the holidays. Children continue with their normal routine, but staff ensure that the experience is fun with different themed activities for each week.
Holiday actvities: Pre-Prep and Junior 
Mayville High School runs its own Holiday Club each holiday except for two weeks at Christmas, for 4-11 year olds. Club activities run bewteen 9am and 4pm. Morning care is available from 8am-9am and after care runs from 4pm-6pm. A light tea is served at 4.30pm for those pupils booked in after care until 6pm.
Children take part in a variety of activities, go on trips to Southsea and further afield to Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Fort Nelson. Sporting events include cricket, table tennis, badminton, and footbal aswell as other activities, like bowling and swimming. In the Christmas holidays there are talent shows and Santa visits. Drama and singing activities, kite making , along with visits to museums, and libraries, and the occasional themed party are all part of the holiday fun.

Sports and activity weeks are usually available for pupils in KS3 during the summer holidays.
