Mayville's "Character Week" culminated in a group of L4 and Junior Prefects giving out teas, coffees and cakes in Palmerston Road to a group of homeless people, and members of the public. Pupils also gave out some Christmas cheer in the shops. Anna Parham who started the Portsmouth Food Bank and helps homeless people sleeping rough in Southsea, said “What a wonderful thing to do in this cold weather. We have never had a school do this before." Throughout the week pupils and staff have been given secret missions to carry out simple acts of kindness. Well done everyone respect and empathy are valuable lessons learnt this week.
