Eastney Playing Fields

Our playing fields — 23 acres of green space tucked behind houses on Southsea seafront, adjacent to the Royal Marines Museum — has been made available through the Cockleshell Community Sports Club to a number of organisations in the city, including Mayville High School. The area boasts 5 football pitches, one rugby pitch, cricket pitches and nets and the Eastney swimming pool is nearby. The playing fields are maintained to a very high standard by our groundsman. Additionally there's a Multi Use Games Area on which pupils can play hockey, netball, basketball and tennis. Close proximity to the school means that pupils can get there and back quickly in the school minibuses within 8 minutes.

Cockleshell Community Sports Club is a joint venture community partnership between Meon Milton Youth Football Club and Mayville High School to manage and maintain the facilities at Eastney that was formerly the playing field of the RM barracks.

We are proud to share the Cockleshell playing fields with Meon Milton Football Club — one of the largest youth football clubs in Portsmouth.

Meon Milton CC Youth FC is a FA Chartered Standard Club. FA Charter status means that the football club as a whole has met the necessary criteria from the FA, we have FA qualified coaching staff, Child Welfare Officers & have appropriate codes of conduct to promote football in a positive manner which we all adhere to.
